Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has advised young people against rushing into marriage before the age of 30, saying most individuals are not emotionally, mentally, or financially prepared for such a commitment in their 20s.

Speaking on an episode of The BTS Reality podcast, the 35-year-old artiste said societal expectations and peer pressure should not determine when people decide to get married.

According to him, the 20s should be a period of self-discovery, personal growth, and enjoying life’s experiences, while the 30s offer greater maturity and a clearer sense of direction.

“Getting married in your 30s is the best. Don’t let anyone pressure you into getting married before 30. By 30s, you have gained more life experiences. In your 20s, you are still figuring yourself out. Your 20s are for learning, growing, and enjoying life,” he said.

Falz added that people are better equipped to make lifelong decisions after gaining more experience and understanding of themselves.

“In your 30s, you combine all the knowledge and try to direct your life. So, it is better to wait till your 30s before getting married,” he stated.
