PFIPC Faces Fresh Scrutiny Following N400 Million Bribery Allegation
The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the activities of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) has received a new complaint of payment of ₦400 million for a purported government contract.
It was gathered that the Managing Director of Divine Dopacy Nigeria Limited, Collins Oyekunle, told the committee that he paid the money to the embattled former Director-General of the council, Mathew Adeyemi, as a condition for winning a N2bn contract.
Oyekunle made the allegation during an investigative hearing of the House panel.
He said that the ₦400m payment was a prerequisite for the contract award.
The businessman said the transaction was the result of several meetings with Adeyemi and some of his associates.
He told lawmakers he did not provide the whole amount from his personal funds, Oyekunle said.
He said that the money was collected from colleagues and other friends and then transferred in batches in 2025.
He said the payments were made into different corporate bank accounts allegedly provided for the transaction.

Members of the committee asked why such a large sum was transferred into accounts that had not been independently verified as belonging to a recognized government institution.
The lawmakers also demanded to know if Oyekunle had carried out due diligence before making the payments.
The panel said it would examine relevant bank records, communications and other documents related to the alleged transaction.
The committee promised to invite all persons and organisations concerned with the allegations to clarify further.
It said the claims would be part of its overall investigation into alleged forgery, impersonation, financial impropriety and the use of government institutions by the disputed council.
Adeyemi remains in police custody on charges relating to the alleged agency.
He and his lawyers have previously sought to testify before the committee.
