The representatives of American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs are reportedly seeking clarification after reports emerged that the music mogul was taken to a hospital following a head injury while serving his prison sentence in New Jersey.

The 56-year-old was reportedly taken for treatment on Saturday, October 10, according to TMZ, which described the injury as non-life-threatening.

The report stated that Combs was conscious and speaking before he was taken to the hospital. However, no official explanation has been provided regarding how the injury occurred.

A representative for the rapper told the Los Angeles Times that his team was working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The representative added that Combs’ health and well-being were the immediate concern, while thanking people who had expressed concern.

A spokesperson for the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix, where the entertainer is serving his sentence, reportedly declined to comment on the hospitalisation.

The reported incident comes as Combs continues to attract media attention over his life behind bars.

On October 2, the Los Angeles Times reported on allegations cited by NBC News from four anonymous inmates, who claimed that Combs paid other prisoners to cook and clean for him.

The reports further alleged that he had access to a contraband mobile phone and an illegal supply of alcohol.

Combs’ representative criticised the intense coverage of his prison conditions, arguing that routine aspects of incarceration were being treated as major developments.

The rapper’s projected release date has also reportedly shifted. Information from the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ inmate database, cited by the Los Angeles Times, showed a change from January 21, 2028, to March 2, 2028.

Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The jury found him not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

The verdict followed a high-profile trial in New York involving testimony about sexual encounters involving Combs, his former girlfriend Casandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, and male sex workers.

His legal team has appealed both the conviction and sentence.

As of the latest reports, the appeal remained unresolved, while further details about the alleged head injury had yet to be made public.
