Over 15 terrorists were killed and several key structures destroyed during Nigerian Air Force (NAF) airstrikes in Zuba, Borno State, on Wednesday.

NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday morning, describing the strikes as “carefully planned and executed.”

He explained that on September 3, 2025, the Air Force carried out a targeted air interdiction mission against a newly identified terrorist enclave west of Zuwa, within the Sambisa general area.

“Acting on credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance, the mission targeted hideouts harbouring fighters and commanders responsible for recent hostilities around Bitta,” Ejodame said.

According to him, the operation was devastating, neutralising more than 15 terrorists and destroying key structures vital to their activities. He added that the offensive further weakened the terrorists’ capacity in the region, while highlighting the NAF’s precision, reach, and determination in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.

Ejodame also emphasized that the strikes reflect the Air Force’s “unwavering commitment” to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians, as well as supporting ground troops in joint operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks.

“Every successful strike brings Nigeria one step closer to lasting peace,” he concluded.
