Yoruba movie actor Adewale Michael Alebiosu has spoken about his journey between Islam and Christianity, explaining how his experiences after returning to Islam eventually led him back to church.

Alebiosu disclosed this while speaking with Biola Adebayo on her interview programme, Talk-To-B.

The actor revealed that he was born into a Muslim family before becoming a Christian following what he described as an encounter with Jesus.

He said his decision to become a Christian did not go down well with his mother, who became angry and asked him to return to the faith he was raised in.

According to Alebiosu, he respected his mother’s wishes and stopped going to church. He subsequently returned to Islam and began attending NASFAT at Jankara Agbado, Ijaye, where he lived at the time.

But the actor said his experience after returning to the mosque became increasingly difficult for him to understand.

Alebiosu claimed that he would sometimes see what he interpreted as angels entering and leaving the mosque whenever he attended worship on Sundays.

He said he kept the experiences to himself because he was uncertain about how people would respond if he told them what he was seeing.

He further claimed that on different occasions, people would approach him and tell him that he had failed to carry out an instruction from God.

The actor said these experiences made him reflect deeply on his spiritual path.

He eventually decided to return to Christianity, explaining that he could no longer ignore what he described as the visions and spiritual experiences he encountered after returning to Islam.

His account has renewed attention on the actor’s personal faith journey and the circumstances surrounding his return to church.
