Davido’s Past APC Statement Reemerges Following Uncle’s Support for Tinubu campaign
Nigerian singer, Davido’s past declaration that he would never support the All Progressives Congress, APC, has resurfaced after his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, was appointed coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in the state.
The appointment has attracted reactions from social media users, with some questioning Adeleke’s decision to join Tinubu’s campaign despite the political differences between the two camps during the 2026 Osun governorship election.
One social media user, identified as IKEAN, wrote: “Yesterday people died for Adeleke while fighting Tinubu APC to win elections. Today Ademola Adeleke, emerges APC Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator in Osun State.”

Another user, Chychy, tagged Davido and wrote: “@davido we your fans are highly disappointed in your uncle for accepting this appointment.”
A user identified as Sly also questioned the appointment, writing: “@davido I pity those that loss there live because of your uncle reelection.. there souls will be crying because they died for democracy instead they died for Apc.”
Davido had openly opposed the APC ahead of the August 2026 Osun governorship election, declaring: “I can never support APC in my life!”
The singer shared a video of Adeleke dancing and singing on his Instagram Story after news of the appointment emerged, although he did not directly comment on his uncle’s new role in the post.
Adeleke, who secured re-election under the Accord Party, was named among the coordinators in Tinubu’s 2027 campaign structure.
