Nollywood star Eniola Badmus has reached out to fellow actress Laide Bakare with a public apology following the controversy surrounding her reaction during a recent podcast appearance.

The actress addressed the issue in a statement posted on her Instagram page on Tuesday, admitting that her response when Bakare’s name came up during Isbae U’s Curiosity Made Me Ask interview could have appeared dismissive.

Badmus said she regretted how her reaction might have been perceived and expressed a desire to end any lingering disagreement between them.

“On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise,” she stated.

In a direct message to Bakare, the actress emphasised that she preferred peace over continued disagreement.

“Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace, and I genuinely wish you well,” she added.

The actress also highlighted the importance of maturity, personal development and the willingness to move beyond past misunderstandings.

According to her, people continue to learn and evolve, and sometimes the best decision is to let go of disagreements instead of allowing them to persist.

“We’re all growing, learning and becoming better versions of ourselves. Sometimes maturity is simply knowing when to let go and move forward,” Badmus wrote.

She ended the statement with an appeal for reconciliation, urging that negativity and grudges should give way to love and peace.

The controversy began after a clip from the podcast circulated online, showing Badmus making a facial expression when Isbae U mentioned Bakare as one of his favourite actresses.

The moment attracted considerable attention on social media, with viewers debating the meaning of her reaction.

Following the apology, Isbae U joined the conversation by encouraging both actresses to settle their differences.

“Let love lead. Na my interview go fix Nigeria in whole. I love you both so much. You both should give me a kiss,” the comedian wrote.

Badmus’ public statement has now placed reconciliation at the centre of the discussion, as she expresses her willingness to move forward peacefully.
