INEC Unveils Full List of Candidates for 2027 Presidency
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of 18 presidential candidates and their running mates for Nigeria’s 2027 general election.
The list, contained in a statement signed by the INEC Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, features candidates drawn from various political parties.
According to the electoral commission, 16 of the 18 presidential candidates are men, while two are women.
Among the prominent names on the list is incumbent President Bola Tinubu, who is listed as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will contest under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Also featured is former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, who is listed as the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Makinde is the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), while Sandy Ojang Onor represents the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke is also listed as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
Other candidates on the INEC list include Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of the Action Alliance (AA), Abbas-Bin Aliyu of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Yusuf Kabiru of the Action Peoples Party (APP), and Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC).
The list further includes Sunday Adenuga of the Boot Party (BP), Adebisi Olusoji of the Democratic Labour Alliance (DLA), Sunday Okereke of the Labour Party (LP), Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Peter Agada of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), and Nwanyanwu Daberechukwu of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
The two female presidential candidates are Ada Elizabeth Frederick Okwori of the National Democratic Party (NDP) and Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement (NRM).
The publication of the final list formally identifies the presidential contenders and their respective parties ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
