Just a few hours after the conclusion of the Osun State governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded about 40 percent of the results on its Result Viewing Portal (IREV).

Naija News reports that 1,517 out of 3,763 submitted results have been uploaded so far on the portal.

So far the results uploaded are 40.31 per cent, according to the portal.

INEC started the uploading a few minutes after the delay in uploading results was queried by award-winning singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The Nigerian singer in a series of posts on his official 𝕏 handle on Saturday, called on the electoral body to ensure transparency and timely update the public on the results of the election.

“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m. and no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal,” Davido wrote. What’s the delay? Nigerians deserve timely, transparent updates”.

To ensure transparency, Davido urged voters to stay at their polling units until their results are uploaded on the IReV portal and ensure that figures are entered on the electronic EC8A result form.

“Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A (electronic EC8A)”. “Bumper to bumper we will follow our votes!”
