Kamo State Opens Up on Funke Akindele’s Failure to Attend Movie Premiere

Nollywood actor and skit maker Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly called Kamo State, has reacted to online speculation surrounding Funke Akindele’s absence from the premiere of his first cinema film, Star Lomo.

The movie premiere took place in Lagos on Sunday without Funke Akindele, prompting questions from some social media users about whether there was a disagreement between the actress and Kamo.

Funke and Kamo have maintained a close relationship in recent years, with the actress supporting the actor’s career and serving as an influential figure in his professional journey.

Addressing the speculation, Kamo State took to X to clarify that Funke’s absence had nothing to do with any disagreement between them.

According to him, the actress was not in Nigeria when the premiere took place. He stressed that they remain on good terms and had already discussed her inability to attend the event.

Kamo also said Funke had indicated that she would support the movie despite missing the premiere.

He appealed to fans and social media users to avoid drawing conclusions about their relationship based solely on her absence from the event.

The actor wrote, “She missed my premiere simply because she wasn’t in the country and nothing more to it, so please don’t assume otherwise.”

He further disclosed that he and Funke had spoken about the film and that she was willing to support the project.

Kamo urged the public to focus on Star Lomo rather than speculation about his relationship with the actress.

The clarification comes as Kamo continues to transition from online skit-making into mainstream Nollywood cinema, with Star Lomo representing an important milestone in his acting career.
