Nigerian Ibrahim Elected President of West African Chambers of Commerce
The National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Dr. Jani Ibrahim, has been elected President of the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI).
Ibrahim emerged after a keenly contested election, according to a statement issued by NACCIMA Director-General, Engr. Olusola Obadimu, in Abuja on Tuesday.
His election places a Nigerian at the helm of the regional organisation representing chambers of commerce and industry across West Africa, with a mandate focused on strengthening private-sector cooperation and promoting regional trade.
NACCIMA described the development as a significant milestone for Nigeria and the organised private sector in the region, citing Ibrahim’s leadership experience, strategic vision and commitment to private-sector development.

As FEWACCI president, Ibrahim is expected to strengthen cooperation among chambers of commerce, advance regional economic integration and promote intra-West African trade.
The association said his administration would also champion policies aimed at supporting enterprise growth and shared prosperity across the sub-region.
According to NACCIMA, Ibrahim’s emergence would reinforce Nigeria’s role in regional commerce and position FEWACCI for stronger partnerships and purposeful engagement towards sustainable economic development.
The new leadership is also expected to provide a platform for greater collaboration among private-sector organisations across West Africa on issues affecting trade, investment and business development.
Ibrahim currently serves as National President of NACCIMA, the umbrella body for chambers of commerce and organised business interests in Nigeria.
