Nollywood Actor Chijioke Nwokafor, Cjay, Is Dead
The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the reported death of actor Chijioke Temidayo Nwokafor, popularly called Cjay.
Cjay’s death was announced by actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday, who shared an emotional video on Instagram on Wednesday.
In the video, the actress appeared visibly distressed and tearful as she revealed that she was at the hospital where the actor had reportedly been confirmed dead.
Nkechi did not disclose what led to Cjay’s death, leaving details surrounding the circumstances unclear.
In her accompanying caption, the actress expressed shock and sadness over the development, saying the actor’s death was not what she expected.
“Cjay this was never the plan,” she wrote, while also informing her followers that she had decided not to release her movie as previously scheduled because of the tragedy.
Cjay hailed from Awka, Anambra State, although he was based in Lagos.

He entered the Nollywood industry professionally in 2021 and built a portfolio through appearances in several movies.
His acting credits include Larry Cold, Mum Overnight, A Day To My Wedding, The Lies She Tell and What Time Left.
The announcement has generated reactions from fans and colleagues who have continued to mourn the actor.
In a separate development, actor Rykardo Agbor has survived a serious road accident in Ibadan.
Agbor posted video footage of the damaged vehicle on Instagram and thanked God for saving his life. The crash reportedly happened near the Cornerstone City billboard along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, although the cause has not been established.
