Nollywood Film Wins Audience Award at BlackStar Festival
Nollywood romantic comedy “Call of My Life,” has won the Favourite Feature Narrative Audience Award at the 2026 BlackStar Film Festival in Philadelphia, United States.
The recognition was announced by Party Jollof TV in a social media post, which described the achievement as a major international milestone for the film and its creative team.
Call of My Life was selected for the festival and screened on August 7 as part of the official programme featuring works by Black and Indigenous filmmakers.
Directed by Dammy Twitch, the film tells the story of Soluchi, a call centre agent navigating heartbreak whose life takes an unexpected turn after a work-related phone call connects her with Eli, a man who captures her interest.

The cast includes Uzoamaka Power, Andrew Yaw Bunting, Beverly Osu, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Zubby Michael, Broda Shaggi and Justin UG.
Produced by Blessing Uzzi under Bluhouse Studios, the film premiered in Nigerian cinemas on May 15 and has attracted attention for its romantic storyline.
The award further strengthens the film’s growing international profile and underscores the increasing presence of Nigerian filmmakers on global festival platforms, providing wider exposure for local productions beyond the domestic market.
The BlackStar Film Festival is an annual celebration of films and stories created by Black, Brown and Indigenous storytellers from around the world.
Its 15th edition was held in Philadelphia from August 6 to 9.
