Osun Governorship Election: Women Group Tasks Voters on Peaceful Conduct

The Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda (BWI-RHA), Osun State Chapter, has urged women and other eligible voters in the Osun State Governorship election to remain peaceful before and after the election.

The state coordinator, Arc. Lola Ibrahim stated this at the official launch of the Osun State Chapter held at the|Ileri Oluwa Hall, Osogbo, Osun State, on Thursday.

“With the governorship election just a few days away. As responsible citizens, let us all continue to uphold the values of peace, respect, tolerance, and civic responsibility. I encourage every eligible voter to participate peacefully and responsibly in the electoral process, in accordance with the laws of our nation. As women, we have always been builders of peace within our homes, our communities, and our society.

Let us continue to be ambassadors of peace before, during, and after the election. Let us reject violence, promote unity, and remember that the progress of Osun State is a shared responsibility that transcends political differences.”

“Regardless of the outcome of the election, our commitment to empowering women, strengthening businesses, and contributing to the sustainable development of Osun State must remain unwavering,” she added.

Speaking on the essence of the launch, Ibrahim explained that it is “not merely the inauguration of another organization. Today marks the beginning of a movement—a movement dedicated to unlocking the immense potential of women as catalysts for economic growth, social progress, and national development.

Osun State is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, resilient people, entrepreneurial spirit, and exceptional human capital. Throughout our history, women have remained the backbone of our families, our communities, and our economy, whose daily contributions continue to shape the prosperity of our state. Yet, despite their enormous contributions, many women still face significant challenges. Limited access to finance, inadequate business support, restricted market opportunities, insufficient mentorship, and limited access to technology continue to hinder the growth of women-owned enterprises.”

“The Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda exists to change this narrative. Our mission is to empower women through enterprise development, leadership training, strategic partnerships, mentorship, advocacy, networking, and access to opportunities that will enable them to thrive in today’s rapidly changing economy.”

She commended the founder, national convener, and director general of BWI-RHA, Dr. Ngozi Oyewole, for her visionary leadership, which has inspired a national movement that is redefining the role of women in leadership, enterprise, governance, and economic development.
