Uche Ogbodo Says Women Should Walk Away When Relationships No Longer Work
Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has called for equal commitment and faithfulness in marriage, insisting that men should stop justifying infidelity while expecting their partners to remain loyal.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Ogbodo described herself as an advocate of fairness in relationships, arguing that both partners should be held to the same standards.
The actress questioned why some men blame their sexual desires for cheating, maintaining that adults should be capable of controlling their behaviour and taking responsibility for their decisions.
“I am an advocate for 50-50 in marriage. If you want me to be faithful to you, stay faithful to me,” she said.
She criticised men who repeatedly make excuses for actions that hurt their partners, urging them to demonstrate the same level of commitment they demand from their spouses.

Beyond addressing infidelity, Ogbodo encouraged women to prioritise their emotional well-being and recognise when a relationship is no longer meeting their needs.
According to her, women must understand their worth, identify their relationship boundaries and love themselves enough to walk away from situations that compromise their happiness.
“I am not an advocate for suffering and smiling. If it is not working, you don’t have to die there,” she said.
The actress also drew attention to emotional and psychological abuse, explaining that mistreatment does not always involve physical violence.
She noted that repeatedly making a woman feel inadequate, inferior or less valuable than another romantic partner could affect her mental and emotional well-being.
Ogbodo, however, acknowledged that some men remain disciplined and understand the principles required to sustain healthy marriages.
Her remarks have renewed conversations about gender expectations, marital fidelity, emotional abuse and the importance of equal responsibility between partners.
