Some Yoruba residents in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has declared their resolve to intensify mobilization efforts in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu re-election in the 2027 general elections.

This declaration was made at the Presidential Villa Abuja during a convening of Yoruba leaders and newly inaugurated executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) drawn from the 62 wards across the six Area Councils of the FCT, on Friday.

The meeting which was organised by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), Chief Dr. Abiodun Essiet, and the Mandate Secretary, FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, Hon. Dr. Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi, acknowledged the significant electoral contributions of Yoruba residents in the six area councils, particularly their role in voter’s sensitizations, mobilisation, campaign support and voter canvassing during recent elections.

They urged Yoruba residents in Abuja to take greater ownership of political participation and actively promote government policies and achievements at the grassroots levels, while calling for sustained unity to consolidate the gains. However, participants called for greater inclusion of Yoruba residents in appointments and governance structures at all levels; stressing that communities which contributed substantially to electoral success deserve fair political representation.

The meeting specially commended the initiative and leadership of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), Chief Dr. Abiodun Essiet, for her sustained efforts in mobilising grassroots support for the Renewed Hope Agenda within the North Central and beyond.

The forum also expressed appreciation for her assurances of guidance and support to the six Area Councils, and pledged to work closely with her office in advancing party unity, electoral growth and the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
