The Eastwing Youth Foundation, the non-governmental wing of the Eastwing Aviation Institute has announced plans for the second edition of the Southeast Aviation Summit and Eastwing Youth Competition, targeting to empower more than 50 youths from the Southeast thru an innovative aviation development program.

The summit, to be held on 26 September 2026, will inspire and educate young people and expose them to the wide array of career opportunities within the aviation industry. The initiative will have a strong focus on safety, innovation, leadership and skills development, providing participants with the knowledge and confidence to pursue successful careers in aviation.

The event is an annual initiative aimed at creating awareness, career development, innovation and youth inclusion in Nigeria’s aviation industry. The summit serves as a launchpad for young people to meet industry experts and learn about opportunities in the aviation industry, enabled by strategic alliances and impactful programs.
The Eastwing Youth Competition, which was successfully launched last year under the theme: “Face of Eastwing Competition/Southeast Aviation Summit,” was created to tackle the underrepresentation of Nigerian youths in the aviation industry by building awareness and capacity of aspiring aviation professionals.

According to the organizers, aviation is one of the country’s most promising and least explored career sectors among young Nigerians. The summit will aim to ignite interest in aviation especially in Southeast and provide participants with the opportunities available in the global aviation ecosystem thru mentorship sessions, career talks, competitions, networking opportunities and hands-on learning experiences.

Christian Agadibe, Executive Director, Eastwing Youth Foundation, said of the initiative: “The program is a reflection of their commitment to nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals and contributing to the sustainable development of Nigeria’s aviation industry. The 2026 edition is anticipated to bring together aviation professionals, policymakers, industry players, students and aspiring young aviators from across the Southeast and beyond for a day of learning, inspiration, innovation and collaboration. The Southeast Aviation Summit 2026, which seeks to empower over 50 youths, is another milestone in developing a more inclusive, qualified and globally competitive aviation workforce in Nigeria.
