AFRIMMA: Real Warri Pikin Wins Best Stand-Up Comedian Award
Nigerian comedian Anita Asuoha, better known as Real Warri Pikin, has been named Best Stand-Up Comedian at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards, AFRIMMA, held in Dallas, Texas.
Real Warri Pikin shared the news on Instagram on Sunday, marking her win following the awards ceremony that took place at Annette Strauss Square on Saturday, 12 September.
“We won #afrimma Best Stand-up Comedian 2026,” she posted.
She came out on top against fellow Nigerians Basketmouth, Bovi and Godfrey, as well as Kenya’s Eric Omondi and Ty Ngachira, South Africa’s Trevor Noah, and Uganda’s Patrick “Salvado” Idringi.
The accolade adds to the international recognition of a career spanning stand-up comedy, acting, digital content and live performances. Real Warri Pikin has also built a strong brand around her lively stage presence and her use of Nigerian Pidgin to engage audiences.

The 2026 AFRIMMA ceremony reunited artistes from across Africa and the diaspora, and marked the event’s return after a two-year hiatus.
According to the official AFRIMMA programme, Warri Pikin was listed among the nominees for Best Comedian alongside several of the continent’s most well-known comedy figures.
The awards were staged during AFRIMMA’s 2026 festival weekend at Annette Strauss Square in Dallas, which also featured performances from top African musicians.
