Nwifuru Fires Back at Chief Priest-worldfrontng.com

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has hit back at socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, after the latter criticised his administration.

The governor spoke on Sunday at an APC political rally, where he addressed the socialite’s recent comments about governance and development in Ebonyi.

Cubana Chief Priest had questioned Nwifuru’s performance, arguing that nearly three years in office should have produced major projects capable of making a lasting difference in the state.

He also criticised the pace of development in Ebonyi and claimed that the state had failed to match the progress recorded in other parts of the South-East.

According to the socialite, political leaders in the state needed to change their approach and adopt a more progressive vision for development.

His comments have attracted attention partly because he is backing Ifeanyi Odii, the PDP candidate in the February 2027 Ebonyi governorship election.

Nwifuru, however, rejected the criticism and said he had no interest in responding to Cubana Chief Priest.

The governor described him as a “noisemaker” and “nobody,” suggesting that the socialite’s remarks did not deserve his attention.

“I don’t have time for Cubana Chief Priest. He’s a noisemaker and a nobody. But if I remember him… I’m sorry for him,” Nwifuru said.

The governor’s response has further fuelled the political exchanges ahead of the 2027 election, as supporters of the APC and PDP intensify their campaigns and public criticism of opposing camps.
