Big Brother Naija reality star Tochi Okechukwu has urged young women to prioritise education, skills and personal development before getting married.
The former BBNaija housemate made the call in a message shared on Instagram, where he expressed his long-standing opposition to early marriage among women.
Tochi argued that girls should be given the opportunity to discover their interests and pursue their ambitions before taking on the responsibilities of marriage and motherhood.
He said marrying and having children too early could result in a woman putting her personal dreams on hold.

The reality star also warned that some women risk having their identities defined entirely by their relationships rather than by their individual achievements.
While describing marriage as a positive institution, Tochi stressed that timing is important.
He advised young women to complete their education, develop relevant skills and become financially independent before considering marriage.
According to him, building a personal foundation first could give women a better opportunity to maintain their ambitions while also managing family responsibilities later in life.
His comments have added to ongoing conversations about the timing of marriage, women’s independence and the importance of allowing young people to pursue their educational and career goals.
