Nigerian singer Portable has called on President Bola Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu, to increase his payment after he participated in an APC campaign rally in Lagos.

The event, held at Onikan Stadium on Tuesday, attracted supporters of the Tinubu-Shettima political ticket, with Portable among those entertaining the crowd.

Videos shared online showed the controversial artiste interacting with supporters and taking part in activities promoting the president.

In one widely circulated clip, however, Portable was seen lying on the ground and demanding to meet Tinubu and Seyi before leaving the venue. His manager, Babylov, attempted to convince him to stand up.

Reports said the singer fainted amid overcrowding at the gathering.

Portable admitted that he had received payment for attending the rally but insisted that his efforts and the physical discomfort he experienced warranted extra compensation.

He complained that the crowd had nearly crushed him and that he was overwhelmed by the heat.

“I want to see Tinubu and Seyi Tinubu; they have almost squeezed me to death. I have fainted,” he said.

He also appealed directly to the president, saying, “Tinubu, pay me more money; I am feeling so much heat.”

The incident has attracted attention on social media following the circulation of videos from the rally.
