Marriage Made It Difficult to Connect With Male Colleagues – Ex-Housemate Abi

Big Brother Naija Season 11 ex-housemate Abisola Ayoola, popularly known as Abi, has reflected on her seven-week journey on the reality show, describing the experience as intense, emotional and instructive.

Abi exited the competition alongside fellow contestant Araga during the Sunday double eviction after spending seven weeks competing with other housemates.

In a post-eviction interview with Punch, Abi discussed the difficulties she encountered while trying to develop relationships and friendships with male contestants.

The reality star, who is married, explained that her marital status initially created some distance between her and some of the male housemates.

She said some of the men appeared reluctant to establish close connections with her because they knew she was married.

However, Abi explained that the situation gradually changed as she became more comfortable within the house. She said she eventually succeeded in forming connections with some of the male contestants despite the initial reservations.

Reflecting on the experience, she said navigating relationships while maintaining personal boundaries was among the most difficult aspects of her time on the programme.

“The hardest part for me was being a married woman in the house and trying to navigate connections with the male housemates,” she said.

Abi added that she initially believed some contestants were deliberately holding back because of her marital status, but she eventually managed to move beyond the situation.

She also disclosed that she is considering starting a business after leaving the show. Among the ideas she is exploring are opening a bakery and establishing a bikini line.

According to Abi, the environment inside the house was emotionally demanding, but it also provided valuable personal lessons.
