Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage has shared insights into her recent surprise performance with American R&B star Usher at his sold-out concerts at the O2 Arena in London.

Tiwa revealed that this marked her second on-stage collaboration with Usher, following their first joint appearance at the Global Citizen Festival held in Accra, Ghana, in 2022. She described the experience as thrilling and memorable.

In an exclusive interview with Rebecca Judd on Apple Music 1, Tiwa also gave fans a sneak peek into her upcoming project. She teased the release of a new music video, expected to feature in her forthcoming album, generating anticipation among listeners.

Reflecting on the O2 performance, she said: “That was our second time performing together—the first was in Ghana at Global Citizen.”

Speaking enthusiastically, she said: “Let’s just say this one is hot, and the video is personal.”

Afrobeats icon Tiwa Savage continues to break new ground as she merges global soundscapes with rich African influences. Speaking about her latest creative direction, Tiwa revealed that her upcoming music video will take a more intimate, collaborative approach. “Normally, when we shoot videos, it’s done separately by the artists. But this time, I told the director we’ll shoot it together,” she said.

Renowned for her powerful vocals and genre-blending artistry, Tiwa emphasized the importance of staying connected to her cultural heritage while navigating global stages. From chart-topping tracks to high-profile collaborations, she remains a driving force behind Afrobeats’ expanding global reach—delivering her art with authenticity, confidence, and humility.

As anticipation grows for her forthcoming album, This One is Personal, Tiwa has been showcasing her versatility, particularly with the R&B-inspired single You4Me. The song joins a series of emotionally resonant releases such as Forgiveness, Mega Money Mega, and Commitment, which features British artist Craig David.

However, fans were stunned on December 28, 2024, when the singer posted a heartfelt message on Instagram suggesting a possible retirement from music. “This might be my last studio album. I’m tired. I don try,” she wrote—sparking a wave of emotional reactions from supporters across the world.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding her future in music, Tiwa Savage’s recent milestones only solidify her legacy as one of Africa’s most influential and trailblazing artists on the global stage.
